Did you know that most insurance companies cover the cost of nutrition counseling?

Yes! Many insurance plans cover nutrition visits, even if you do not have an actual diagnosis. To start, call the 800 number on the back of your card and ask to speak with a representative.

Use the following FAQ information to find out if your insurance will cover your visit.

What insurance companies do you participate with?

Currently we are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, United Healthcare and Aetna, both commercial and Medicare plans.

What if you are not in-network with my insurance plan?

In this case we are considered out-of-network and you will need to pay for your session at the time of service. We are happy to provide you a “superbill” to submit to your insurance for reimbursement according to your policy. Please call the number for member services on the back of your card to verify the process for reimbursement.

What do I ask my insurance company?

  • Do I have nutrition counseling coverage on my plan?

  • Will my diagnosis be covered?

  • How many visits are covered per calendar year?

  • Do I have a co-pay?

  • Do I have a deductible?

    • In the case of a deductible, we will not be able to bill your insurance from the start. Therefore payment is due at the initial session and at each follow-up.

    • We will provide you the documentation to submit to insurance for application to your deductible. Once the deductible has been met, we are happy to bill your insurance directly.
